Child Parenting vs. Teen Parenting pt.5

Child parenting vs. Teen Parenting pt.5…Peer Pressure

Are we as parents handling teenage peer pressure efficiently…
what I mean is, are we communicating with our teens enough
When it comes to the pressure our kids are faceing, when they
wanna be part of something, or some group.
It seems like we’re losing touch with our communication with our
teenagers, either we make ourselves too busy with work, or we
Pass it off as “growing pains” and say ; “they’ll get through this”.
At the end of the day, they still need us… whether they want to
admit it or not, we are the first line of defense when it comes to our children.
But what do you really tell your children, when it comes to dealing with drinking,
drugs, or just hanging out with some un-savory Characters?
How do we address a depressed teen that feels outcast by their peers?
What are the warning signs of OUR child or teen , when they are contemplating suicide?
I emphasize our because a lot of parents are in denial their child would be a part of any of that.
I personally know a parent that made that mistake with her twelve year old daughter…
shes dead now from committing suicide.

  1. Teaching our children at an early stage is the best way. We need to instill the Thank You< Please< Excuse Me< and the Asking for permission before taking. The list goes on. That is where is start.
